I am looking for someone to stay at our comfortable, well-equipped home in Princeton Junction, New Jersey to keep my gentle giant, Merlin (a Black Russian Terrier) in company and cuddles while we are on vacation. He takes a while to warm up to strangers, so is likely to be aloof at first - ideally then, you live close by and we could meet up a little beforehand to introduce you to him. He uses a doggy door, and is fed once a day (in the evenings), along with getting two additional treats (one in the morning and one before bed), and we usually take him to the local dog park once a day, so ideally, you would either be working from home if you work, or spending a fair amount of time here. You could skip the dog park if you're not comfortable with taking him there - in that case, a short walk or some ball play in our fenced back yard would work fine.
The house is low-maintenance so other than watering the 2 plants (that will tell you when they need water by drooping once every two weeks or so), taking out the trash, and keeping Merlin company, you would have an ideal base to explore Princeton from. We are very close to the train station, so can travel along the East Coast with ease, and you can also take the Dinky Train into the stunning little town of Princeton itself, which is about 3 miles away. This would suit a couple, or one or two students/friends well - as long as you love big, goofy dogs, don't have a problem with him on the couch, and are responsible, this might work for you. The house itself is equipped with all the necessary things for a comfortable Winter, including high-speed internet, the usual bouquet of streaming options (Netflix, Amazon Prime etc), two home-offices, two double bedrooms, two bathrooms, and loads of books and games for lazy days next to the fireplace. We'd like you to enjoy your stay and develop a relationship with Merlin, so will make you feel as comfortable as possible too. |
