We are Jim and Mary Elwood, a
recently retired couple in our mid 60s.
We’ve been married three years and still on our honeymoon! We have recently sold our home in Phoenix,
Arizona and want to spend the next several years traveling throughout North America. We lived in Boise, Idaho for over 30 years
before relocating to Arizona in 2017.
Mary is a Coast Guard veteran and transitioned to becoming a
software developer in the civilian world.
She retired as software development manager for a large multi-national
company. She has degrees in physics and
business.
Jim is a retired police
officer from Pomona, California and also a retired certified real estate
appraiser. In his spare time, Jim and
his best friend from high school have a construction business and hold general
contractor licenses in California and Idaho.
Needless to say, he is pretty handy around the house! Jim has a degree in administration of
justice.
We have both owned multiple
homes – both separately and together – and are well versed in home maintenance
(mowing lawns, tending to gardens, shoveling snow, fixing leaky faucets, etc.).
Over the years we have had
the privilege of being human caretakers for several dogs – black labs,
miniature poodles and rescue dogs. We
love animals and would love to care for your pets (and home) while you are on
the road yourself.
Mary did some house-sitting
in the mid 1980’s for a family and cared for Bella (a large, mixed breed rescue
dog) several times over the course of a year.
We both recently house sat for some friends and cared for their dog,
labradoodle Daisy. We've also sat for a pair of standard poodles (twice), and spent a week with 10 cats.
We are available for whatever
questions you may have. Personal
references as to our reliability, cleanliness, handyman projects and our love
for animals are also available.
We look forward to bringing
our strong work ethic, professionalism and respect for your property to you,
your home and your pets.
Thank you for your
consideration.
