About Kory Baker-henderson:

Hi :)  My name is Kory and I am passionate about family, nature, animals, storytelling, community and creative projects. I have been a teacher for many years and am currently a homeschool facilitator, where I help families with their homeschool journeys. 

I have been married for over 25 years to my husband, Dwayne, and we have two older teenagers. Our mature, wonderful, 15-year-old daughter Kaleena, homeschools so we have freedom to travel and pet/house-sit together. Kaleena loves animals very much, creative projects, outdoor activities and tropical adventures.  We are non-smokers and non-drinkers and are very loving, kind and respectful people.  It is a true honour for us to pet sit and be welcomed into people's homes.  

We love pet and house sitting and have enjoyed caring for dogs, cats, birds, pet mice, fish, rabbits and guinea pigs for many years.  We also have enjoyed ranch sitting with pigs, horses, cows, chickens, ducks, geese and goats.  Additionally, we love plants and gardens and we have looked after numerous homes with many plants.  We have a garden at home and participate in our local community garden.  We also have a sweet rabbit of our own named Hank.  When we are away my husband and son lovingly take care of our dear rabbit.

Kaleena and I are hoping to have a Hawaiian adventure this year near Waikiki to combine our love of animals and Hawaii.  As well, my Father will be staying in Waikiki over our Canadian winter so we would very much like to be be able to spend some time with him and enjoy Hawaii together (ideally a few weeks or a month sometime in Dec-February).  Being able to house and pet sit would be very joyful for my daughter Kaleena and I as it would help us be able to go on this trip economically and we love meeting and loving on new furry friends :).

My husband and I have known the Baker-Hendersons for 10 years. They are the most excellent next door neighbours - kind, helpful, and friendly - and are also really great pet sitters! On multiple occasions when we have gone away on vacation, they have looked after our dog, feeding, walking, and giving him tons of attention! Our dog takes a medication twice daily, and I know that Kory and her family will reliably give it to him. Even when we are not away on holiday, I often hear them greeting our dog as he sits outside, giving him pats and ear scratches. They have also kept an eye on our house for us when we are away and are easily reached through phone, text, or email if we ever had to contact them. I know that they are the go-to family in our neighbourhood for both house and pet sitting, and for very good reason!
